A complex board designed with three dimension visualization.

For creating virtual prototype design by PCB design engineers, element14 has brought the EagleUp 3D design converter in 3D world.

The ground-up developed the EAGLE design community for enable to export 2D layout and make perfect 3D prototype simulations in Google SketchUp from cadsoft’s EAGLE PCB designing software. As a slimmer & energetic electronic device, modern PCBs have used to be mapped with accuracy in design processing season. By creating a realistic model of PCB, the one-click send overseas EagleUp’s characteristic speeds-up PCB model. It can be strictly examined for any type of modification and 100% accuracy, which proved really precious.

According to Jerome Lamy, the developer of EagleUp converter, CadSoft Eagle users can simulate the viability of their SketchUp models, much earlier the production process. And also the realistic rendering makes for marketing material before the users has the real product available for demo. The three dimensions model allows the creators to merge multiple boards in the same model to check out the misalign connectors & collisions of long components. The creating models can be used to weigh up airflow around the devices. The designers also convert mechanical designs from IGES & STEP available on the websites of manufacturer.

If needed, then the final SketchUp design can be export to other MCAD tools in STEP format. In user language program, EagleUp is converted in EAGLE ULP for customizing to specific design needs. The EAGLE ULP scripting language is in c-type syntax & access the all information about the layout. The built-in Ruby script is used to write the plugin in SketchUp.

The users can downloaded all the essential tools for EagleUp in free of cost for Mac OS platforms and Windows. The EagleUp webpage services as a warehouse for the most using electronic components. All versons of CadSoft’s EAGLE PCB design software contain Designlink. It also available from element14, bringing web 2.0 to engineers with more of ten thousands technical data and software tools.

It is always exciting that architects ideas created with SketchUp and Shaderlight turn into a physical reality.

Recently the ArtVPS’s Shaderlight rendering software designed the new Boeing Everett Delivery center of Cambridge technology in Washington. The architect design practice DLR Group used this software for the Boeing job & its other nineteen North American Office Chain.

The DLR Group provides various fields like engineering, architecture, planning, and interior design services to the clients throughout the China and USA. Since the year 2000, when the 3D modeling tools are available for all users first, the firm has always been a primary adopter of current technology by using Google SketchUp in its designing process. In July 2011, The DLR Group had started to use plug-in and leading Shaderlight rendering tool and create quality visualizations for client which had not possible to achieve for SketchUp alone.

The New Boeing Everett Delivery Center in Washington is one of the most current projects of DLR Group which is benefited from Shederlight mostly. Providing an effective and simple means for visualizing the 3D model to photorealistic quality, the interactive rendering tools were used for Group’s presentation and client’s approval. In past, the DLR Group has worked with the tools: Revit, Form Z, Kerkythia, 3dsMax & Viz. But now the Shaderlight’s interface has ability to communicate at a level above Google SketchUp has made a choice for DLR Group to choose rendering tools.

According to Mr. Steven McKay, the senior principal & the design leader of DLR Group, Shaderlight is an excellent presentation engine which adds a new way to architecture in client presentation. Now, the ability of Shaderlight to present clients with photorealistic and high quality design is becoming it the essential part of securing client approval for designers & architects.
