The v-ray material is a special material included with the V-Ray renderer. This material is usually applied in creating self-illuminated surfaces. It also facilitates speedy rendering rather than with a Standard 3ds Max material through self-illumination. It can also transform an object into an actual mesh light source.

The VRayLightMtl can be used as light source allocated to an object. If the value of the color is enhanced it will influence the GI solution and will generate more light. The overbright colors may appear as identical as pure white but the GI results may vary.
