Review of 3.4 Beta for Sketchup

Recently Chaos Group launches vray 3.4 beta for sketchup. The users can access this vray 3.4 beta for free by making registration online in Chaos group webpage. But the licence key will be activated till to the next year at January 1.

Go through the following sketchup video to be familiar with the new feature of vray 3.4 beta for sketchup.

This newest version of v-ray includes the new interface and three toolbars with easy shortcuts to some of the most recognized V-Ray components.

There is new black theme interface in v-ray asset editor. By clicking on the small arrow at left side, one can access the category and library material tab. The V-Ray Asset Editor can be used to efficiently manage V-Ray associated assets and V-Ray render settings. Go to quick setting and drag the parameter setting, and it’ll be modified automatically in material view.

A render icon exists in the gear tab icon at the right and the users will be able to render directly from here.

Now, it is possible to modify the behavior of the render icon in vray rendering and options toolbar by clicking on it. Go back to vray asset editors, and click on this box. The users can render it for production render mode, or for RT render mode.

With Batch Render, set up all of your scene tabs, and render each individual scene tab with a single mouse click.

The V-Ray 6:1 Stereoscopic Render button automatically creates a 6:1 aspect ratio cube map for both eyes, applicable with easily accessible V-R Headsets. By clicking on the 6:1 Stereoscopic Render button, V-Ray will automatically produce a stereoscopic image.

Then, v-ray frame buffer. v-ray frame buffer commonly used to view all render elements in a single window and switch between them easily. It’s also used to view the rendered channels individually and many more.

Review of Sketchup 2017

In this sketchup video, Robson Jacobsen, CEO of Jacobsen3D, briefly reviews the primary new features of sketchup 2017.

The most vital modification is made to rectangle tool in SketchUp 2017. Now, there is a small pre-drawn rectangle that will facilitate the users to choose the axis automatically on which the drawing will be produced. It is also possible to lock the axis with the use of the arrow keys.

The speed is also significantly enhanced (minimum 20% to 30%). SketchUp 2017 offers the new graphics (line work, transparent materials, shadows, etc) in both SketchUp and Layout.

How to pass sketchup models to buildable (molds) for 3d printing with PDF & AutoCAD

This sketchup tutorial will provide step-by-step guidance on how to run four models of SketchUp to buildable (molds) to make them printable with PDF and in AutoCAD which can be utilized to generate models specially curved figures. The scale and some useful tricks are used to adapt 3D and 2D.

Every model contains a height that will be compared with the height "assembled size H" (size once armed). The height is given in millimeters and the scale will be rectified. After that, the size of the paper together with, other details like flaps to paste and lines will be modified.

The thickness of the material is proportionate to the size of the machine. There are other features like "paint overflow", "paint flaps", editing, layout, export, password protection, numbers of flaps, fold angle, join faces, insert texts and images etc.

How to exchange data between Sketchup and Excel

A new sketchup extension has been released in November 15, 2016 with a view to smoothen the task of exchanging data between sketchup and excel.

Specifications:
Size: 682.87 KB
Version: 2017 SU2XL (0.562.1)

SketchUp Compatibility: SketchUp 8, SketchUp 2013, SketchUp 2014, SketchUp 2015, SketchUp 2016, SketchUp 2017.

OS Compatibility: Mac OS X, Windows

There are basically two types of toolbars.

1) SU2XL toolbar: User can export SketchUp entity (line, surface, volume) data to Excel or a csv file and can import some data from Excel (or a csv file) to SketchUp using this toolbar.

2) WATTRIBUTES toolbar: User can add individualized portions of information to the entities. It is helpful to trace the entities exported by SU2XL to a worksheet also.

The video below with detailed information will make user able to understand the entire procedure regarding the data exchange (bill of materials) from sketchup to excel.

How to Configure Image Sampler in Vray for Sketchup 3.4

The latest version of V-Ray for SketchUp is version 3.4. This sketchup v-ray video presented by MasterTuts will focus on how to resolve the issues found in the modes of Image Sampler applied in V-Ray 3.4.

In V-Ray, an image sampler stands for an algorithm for sampling colors and generating the final array of pixels which develop the rendered image. There are two leading image samplers which offer their own style to sampling and its own parameters. The finest choice of image sampler differs in relation to scene elements, the level of detail in textures, and several other factors.

The choice of an image sampler and its settings considerably influences the balance of quality vs. speed for a rendering. The perfect method to select the exact image sampler for a scene is to know the process of functioning as well as their strengths and restrictions. The settings on the Image sampler (Antialiasing) deployment for V-Ray Adv define the type of image sampler required for rendering with V-ray, and deliver basic settings for all image sampling. The settings for V-Ray RT are restricted as the Real Time engine functions sequentially to render the image.

How to use Auto Reflection feature to render a sketchup model

Go through the following sketchup video tutorial to learn how to use Auto Reflection rendering feature in IRender nXt to save significant time in rendering any sketchup model.

Auto Reflection makes materials becomes reflective through Auto Reflection feature as it applies an equivalent word pattern method in the material name. The reflection values toward intensity, sharpness, index of refraction, and bump are arranged previously, so reflection values for materials should not be arranged separately.

As for instance, it is possible to stipulate that all material names equivalent to the pattern "steel" will be 90% reflective and metallic.

Any allocated materials having names which equal to the list of patterns, and for which particular reflection values are not already arranged, will render through the previously defined reflection values from Auto Reflection.

(If you already arrange reflection values for an assigned material, your settings will supersede the Auto Material settings.)
